    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 23-year-old is aware that he is not in head coach Hansi Flick's plans at Barcelona; with the signing of new players, Victor's position is also no longer secure. Valencia have monitored the forward's situation and feel he is a good fit for head coach Carlos Corberan, who appreciates the Spanish forward's versatility and dynamism. However, Deco only plans on selling the player as Barcelona need to make money, and this plan stands for all players who are out of Flick's long-term plans.

The meeting between the two clubs went well, but Valencia had the same concerns other teams are interested in Victor. The Spanish club will be unable to match Barca's £8 million ($11m) asking price as financial regulations are also hurting their transfer activity. With Rashford coming in, Victor is aware he will have even fewer opportunities in the first-team, forcing him to consider leaving.
